Sustainability And Its Application In Family Farming From The Perspective Of Environmental Law

Abstract

The concept of Sustainable Development is questioned, amongst other arguments, in function of the difficulty in if determining the sustainability of a system. The present study in looked for to carry through a reading associated with familiar agriculture. The choice of familiar agriculture is related with the multifunctionality of the familiar agriculture, that beyond producing foods and raw materials, more than generates 80% of the occupation in the agricultural sector, answers in Brazil for seven of each ten jobs in the field an for about 40% of the agricultural production. Currently most of the foods that supply the table of the Brazilians come of the small properties. Familiar agriculture favors the job of practical productive more ecologicamente balanced, as the diversification of cultivos, the lesser use of industrial insumos and the preservation of the genetic patrimony. Familiar agriculture is sustainable when it ecologicamente is well established, economically viable, socially joust and culturally appropriate.
